BBA 2008-2009

 

Objectives of the B.B.A Course

To provide high quality education in business to the students who, on successful completion of the course, may (i) join industry, business and non-profit organizations, (ii) seek entrepreneurial or self-employment positions especially in small, medium and service sectors or (iii)  pursue higher education like MBA course on open competition.

 

For practical training, a Term Paper and a Project Work are made part of the course. The Term Paper and Presentation of 100 marks  and Project Work of 100 marks in the specialization area are included at the end of the second year and at the end of the third year respectively. At the end of the third year, there will be a “Comprehensive Viva” of 100 marks.

Admission for the academic session 2008-2009

  1. A candidate may be admitted to the B.B.A.( Honours ) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (+2 course conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination, recognized as such, by the University of Calcutta, in all the recognized subjects ( of full marks not being less than 100 ) including English and Pure Mathematics/Business Mathematics but excluding Environmental Studies/Education, subject to the fulfillment of the following other conditions.

  2. A candidate must secure a minimum of 45% marks in each paper and a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all the papers.

  3. No candidate will be allowed admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of regular degree courses of study after passing the previous qualifying examination.

  4. Prospective candidates seeking admission to the course will have to appear for an entrance examination. The entrance examination will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions covering three broad areas - English, Mathematics (Class XII level), and General Awareness. The examination will be of one hour likely to be held on any one of the following dates, 15th June, 2008 or 22nd June, 2008 at 10:00a.m., to be announced later.

  5. The candidates short listed on the basis of the score in the entrance examination and qualifying examination (i.e. WBHS / ISC / CBSE / State Boards etc.) result will have to appear for personal interview & group discussion at the college premises on specified date(s) to be announced later. The mode of final selection will be on the basis of the following  weightage:
