B.COM. 2008-2009 :

St. Xavier’s College, offers the three year B.Com. with  Honours, with specialization in  one of the following :

1.Accounting and finance, 2.Marketing Management, 3.E-Commerce

B.Com. [Morning Session] : 6am - 9:40am : For Boys only

B.Com. [Evening Session] : 3pm - 8pm : Co-educational - for Boys & girls.

There are separate forms for morning and evening session.

In case one wishes to be considered for both the sessions, he/she must fill up separate forms for each session.

Admission Qualification for B.Com.

Regulations : A candidate may be admitted to the B.Com (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (+2 course) conducted by West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination recognized as such by University of Calcutta in five recognized subjects (of full marks not being, less than 100 each) including English and Mathematics / Business Mathematics but excluding Environmental Studies / Environmental Education, subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions :

1. No candidate will be allowed admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of regular degree courses of study after passing the previous qualifying examination.

2. A candidate applying for Honours must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in each subject at the previous qualifying examination.

3. A candidate shall be allowed to take up Commerce only if he/she had passed the subject(s), at the previous qualifying examination mentioned below :

Accountancy

or Business Economics including Business Mathematics

or Business Organization or Mathematics

or Economics or Statistics
