Admission procedure 2008-2009
After the publication of the results of the W.Bengal HS, ISC,
CBSE, State Boards etc., application forms for admission are
available on-line subject to a minimum prescribed/cut off marks.
(check the General Information page
for cut-off marks for various courses)
The minimum cut off may differ from department to department,
and from Board to Board.
From the academic session 2004-2005, ST. XAVIER'S COLLEGE
introduced ON LINE APPLICATIONS, i.e. one has only to log on to
the college website
www.sxccal.edu, enter the application
procedure, and fill the application form given on the website
and submit the same through ON LINE.
APPLICATIONS FORMS ARE AVAILABLE ON-LINE ONLY.
NO PRINTED FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE, PLEASE NOTE!
NO NEED OF COMING TO THE COLLEGE AND WAIT IN THE QUEUE TO
COLLECT THE FORM AND THEN AFTER FILLING IN THE FORM, GET BACK TO
THE COLLEGE TO SUBMIT THE DULY FILLED IN FORM.
APPLYING ON LINE is a great help to all who have
accessibility to internet at Home or in Cyber Cafes in their
town or village, to save time and money for travel.
Departments of BBA, MCVV & Comp.Sc. conduct entrance test.
Hence appear for the entrance tests as per the schedule.
For other departments check the website for selection /
interview lists and details.
All other details regarding admission procedure will be
published along with the lists of the respective departments.

Apply through ON LINE ONLY.

COMPLETING THE ON LINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Steps to be followed to complete the on-line application
procedure :
- Get into the ON-LINE application
page.
- Read the instructions and click on your respective
subject.
- Fill up the on-line form
carefully.
- After completion, submit the form
on-line by clicking on the SUBMIT button.
- On successful submission, the
acknowledgement sheet and the bank challan will appear
on the screen.
- Take a printout of
acknowledgement sheet and the bank challan (two A4 size
pages).
- Proceed to the prescribed branches of the bank and
pay the application fee through the
challan.
- The bank will keep one part and return the second part
after receipt.
- Check your payment after three days
from the payment date through a link provided on the
admission page.
- In case your payment is not registered approach the bank
branch and get your payment verified.
- Get the acknowledgement sheet
attested by the Principal / Headmaster of the last
school attended.
- Save the Acknowledgement sheet
(offline) and the Bank challan for further processes.
Those who have no facilities readily available at home or
in the town/village may go to the nearest available cyber café
or may come to the college and avail of the cyber facilities
of the college.

Written Entrance Test or Interview or
Both and publication of the LIST OF CANDIDATES SELECTED FOR
ADMISSION.
The Department of Commerce conducts an INTERVIEW of
Short-listed/Selected candidates on the basis of their academic
merit. Date for publication of the SELECTED LIST WILL BE
ANNOUNCED LATER.
The Department of Mass Communication & Videography, Computer
Science & BBA conducts Entrance Tests. Selection is done both on
the basis of your Plus-2 results and the marks obtained at the
written entrance test.
After the written test list of candidates selected will be
announced. THE LIST OF SELECTED CANDIDATES FOR INTERVIEW WILL BE
PUT UP ON THE WEBSITE/ COLLEGE NOTICE BOARD ON NOTIFIED DATES.
For the other Departments which do not hold entrance test or
interview, applicants are selected on the basis of their
previous qualifying examination.
FOR THE ABOVE SUBJECTS NOT HAVING ENTRANCE TEST, dates of
publication of the candidates selected for admission and other
details such as date for admission formalities to be completed
will be announced in advance.
NOTE: THE LISTS FOR DIFFERENT BOARDS ARE PREPARED ON A
PROPORTIONATE BASIS. SO IN CASE ISC, CBSE LIST OF SELECTED
CANDIDATES ARE PUBLISHED EARLIER, THE MERITORIOUS HS
CANDIDATES MAY REST ASSURED THAT THEIR SEATS WILL NOT BE TAKEN
BY THE ISC, CBSE CANDIDATES.
NO REDUCTION OF MARKS FOR ISC, CBSE AND OTHER BOARDS: Marks are
not reduced from ISC, CBSE candidates. Applicants are listed
according to their boards, and candidates are arranged in their
merit order for preparing the list for admission.

ENROLMENT
Students selected on the basis of the previous qualifying
examination will report for admission and enrolment to the
respective Vice-Principals on the dates announced for
enrolment.
