ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Eligibility:
B.Sc with Physics Honors.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Admission Process: Students who have cleared the B.Sc
exam in the current year (relaxable for SXC students) and
secured a minimum of 55% in the honors subject to be considered
for admission. The selection is done through a randomized test
and an interview.
Admission Events :
| Completed Application forms along with
the application fee of Rs 300/- and attested photocopies
of B.Sc. (Physics Honours) marksheets are to be
submitted to the Post Graduate Office, St.
Xavier’s College (main building, 3rd floor, right at the
corner where the stairs to the 4th floor is situated)
between 10 am and 1 pm. |

Syllabus: Broad Topics:
(1) Mathematical methods of physics, (2) Classical Mechanics,
(3) Electromagnetism, (4) Thermodynamics and kinetic theory, (5)
Statistical Mechanics,
(6) Quantum Mechanics, (7) Electronics.
Scope: Undergraduate B.Sc. Physics (Hons.) syllabus of
Calcutta University
Course Fee: Initial payment of Rs.24,900/- including
admission, yearly and tuition fees for three month. Two full
scholarships along with other assistance will be provided on
merit / means basis.
