The Placement Cell, launched in 2004-05, is a one point contact for all companies interested in inducting Xaverians in their organization either as employees or interns. Comprising of student representatives, teacher coordinator – Dr. M. Hanif and headed by Mr. Niladri Sinha, the Placement Cell has been constituted with the following objectives:

• To act as an interface between the corporate world and the students in order to bridge the gap between them.
   
• To act as a contact point for all companies who wish to recruit students from St Xavier’s (Autonomous) College, Kolkata. The Placement Cell will facilitate the placement procedure from the pre-placement talks (PPT) to the induction process.
   
• To assist students in becoming ready for the corporate world by organising workshops for the outgoing students of the college.

Last Year (2011-2012) many students were recruited through the Placement Cell and we are expecting to place many more students in the current year (2012-2013).

FOR STUDENTS

The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College acts as an integral link between the students and corporate organisations. St. Xavier’s College is one of the first colleges to start a Placement Cell and has facilitated placements for many students. The placement cell functions under the supervision of Mr. Niladri Sinha assisted by students and operates all around the year to arrange campus interviews by the companies. The Cell acts as a contact point for all companies that wish to select students from St. Xavier’s College. It facilitates the whole process from collecting the CVs of the students to organising Pre-placement talks by companies to the final induction process.

NOTE: Payment of Rs. 200 in cash is mandatory to avail of the services of the Placement Cell.

Procedure:

1. Fill up the on-line form and submit
2. Take a Printout of the submitted details (2 pages - A4)
3. Make payment using the printed PLACEMENT CELL REGISTRATION PAY IN SLIP
4. Submit the filled in application form and produce the payment slip at the Placement Cell office to get yourself registered.

St. Xavier’s College has always strived to meet the challenges of enriching, encouraging and developing human capital for the betterment of the society. It is no exaggeration to state that the all round development offered at our institute has made our students valuable in the job market.

The Placement Cell also assists students in crafting their CV’s and advises them in clinching a job of their choice.

The Placement Cell offers the following facilities to simplify the on campus recruitment process for the companies:

• AV rooms for holding pre-placement talks.
• Auditorium of capacity [500] for presentations.
• Student representatives at every step for guidance and for all possible conveniences on the day of the visit.
