Diploma Course in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (LSCM)

Scope:  Supply Chain Management (SCM) deals with the network of organizations that are involved, through upstream and downstream linkages, in different processes and activities that produce value in the form of products and services in the hands of the ultimate consumer.

 It encompasses all activities associated with the flow and transformation of goods and services through to the end-users. SCM also deals with the information and financial flows associated with these processes. Logistics is an integral part of SCM and is defined as the process of strategically managing procurement, movement and storage of materials, parts and finished inventory and the related information flows through the organisation and its marketing channels for the cost effective fulfillment of customers’ orders.

 

¨Course Structure:  (i) The course is divided into two semesters.  (ii)  Certificate will be given after completion of the1st semester ( July to December) and Diploma will be awarded after completion of the 2nd  semester (January to June).  (iii) Projects/industrial training are included in the course.

¨Course duration:  Six months for the Certificate course and one year for the Diploma course.

¨Course commencing from:  July 31, 2007

¨No. of seats:   25

        ¨ Class days:     3 days/week (6pm – 8pm)

 

¨Eligibility:  Final year U.G. students or graduates in any discipline. Diploma can be       given to the U.G. students only after completion of graduation.

¨Exemption: 3rd year BBA and Engineering graduates can directly join Sem II after completing a bridge course. Persons having MBA or 2 year PGDBM can directly join Sem II after completing a four-week bridge course

¨Course fee:  Rs. 10,000 for the Certificate course & Rs. 18,000 for the Diploma course. Students who will be directly joining the 2nd semester after completing the bridge course (subject to the eligibility) will be required to pay Rs.14000.

There will be a project assignment for three weeks after the completion of the regular classes.

Semester II

·Operations Management II   ·Supply Chain Strategies  · International Logistics and global Supply Chains   ·Information technology for Supply Chain Management   ·Supplier/Customer Relations Management · Operations Management III  ·Total Quality Management .  Supply Chain Management Metrics   ·Lean Manufacturing & Supply Chains   ·Retail Supply Chains    ·Electives: RFID  or PLM    

There will be industrial training and project assignment for  3 – 6 weeks after the completion of the regular classes.

 Completed application form (along with two passport sized photographs and attested photocopy of the qualifying examination) is to be submitted at Room no. 7 or at St. Xavier’s Computer Centre by paying a registration fee of Rs. 50/-. Eligible candidates may get direct admission subject to the fulfillment of norms.

Payment of fees

 

The course fee may be paid in two equal installments for the certificate and in three equal installments for the diploma. The 1st installment is to be paid at the time of admission. A concession of Rs. 200/- will be offered to the students who pay their fees in one installment for the certificate and Rs. 500 for those who pay in one installment for the diploma at the time of admission. Fees are to be paid at the counter of the Syndicate Bank on the college premises from 9 A.M. till 1 P.M during weekdays and 9 A.M to 11 A.M. on Saturdays. If payment is made by cheque, the cheque should be made payable to “St. Xavier’s College”. In case of cheque payment, the admission will be provisional subject to the realization of cheque. Outstation cheques are not accepted.
