EMRC (Educational Multimedia Research Centre), Kolkata, has developed and uploaded 10 mooc (massive open online courses) for the benefit of students.
 These courses have been designed in accordance with the 'SWAYAM programme' of the Government of India in the format provided BY MHRD, Government of India.
 This will give the students a chance to register for courses which may not be available in our college and still earn co-curricular credits for their degrees.
 Students are therefore encouraged to enroll for courses of their choice which is fully free of charge.
 A short description and duration of the courses are available on the posters put up on the notice boards and in the college website.View Poster

A function for Swachhata Ranking Awards 2018 for higher educational institutions was held in New Delhi on October 1, 2018. On this occasion, a book named "Swachh Campus-2018" was released to showcase the institutional achievements. 72nd Independence Day Celebration

72nd Independence Day was celebrated by St. Xavier's College Kolkata on Wednesday. 15th August 2018. The occassion was graced by Commodore Alok Chatterjee, Group Commander, Kol 'C' Group of NCC. NCC cadets of the college presented ceremonial guard of honour to the flag. Xadam presented a vibrant cultural show. Fr. Principal addressed the audience depicting the significance of the day.

World Assembly of Jesuit Universities in Spain

The World Assembly of Jesuit Universities was hosted by the University of Deusto from 8th to 12th July in Bilbao, Spain. The event was attended by more than two hundred Jesuits and Lay Collaborators from Jesuit Universities and Institutions of Higher Education from around the world.

Visit of H.E. Ambassador, Jan Luykx of Belgium

A host of seven Belgian Jesuits arrived at Calcutta in November 1859. Under the leadership of Fr. Henry Depelchin St. Xavier's College, Calcutta was started in January 1860. It is now the honest home of selfless Jesuit Fathers, learned professors and zealous students.

The long standing relationship with Belgium was reinforced in the year 2011 when an MOU was signed between University of Namur and St. Xavier's College. Both Staff and Student Mobility has been initiated under this MOU. View details..

Why Xavier's

St. Xavier's College is a 157 years old institution with rich heritage and long tradition.

As a Jesuit Higher Educational Institution, it aims to form men and women for others, with fundamental human and spiritual values.

The tiny seed has grown into a mighty tree from 83 students in 1860 to 7,853 students in January 2016.

The College functions in three shifts : morning, day and evening, offering UG and PG courses in Humanities, Science, Education, Commerce and Business Administration.

The College also offers various career oriented certificate and diploma courses to college students as well as others.

The College motto "Nihil Ultra" means Nothing Beyond, a motto, significant and suggestive of a noble ideal, of an unconquerable hope, that should urge the Xavierian always to aim high.
