2-3 Dept. of Film Studies organized Cinematheque, a national film competition providing students an opportunity to showcase their talents alongside some of the best in the country.
3-4 Prof. Zaid Al Baset presented a paper at a conference organized by the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla.
5-8 Easter vacation
9 Semester VI exams began
9 PROF. Chirantini Das published an article ‘Botany in the Vedas’ in the Quarterly Review of Historical Studies published by the Institute of Historical Studies.
11 The Entrepreneurship Development Cell received a Rs. 4 lakh grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology for organization of Skill Development Training in West Bengal.
11-22 A five-member Alumni/ALSOC team visited Spain as part of the Alumni exchange program organized by JAAI.
14-15 Fr. Felix Raj attended the Alumni West Zone Chapter in Mumbai.
16 The M.Com Dept. organized a one day seminar – “Awakening India”- Vision 2020.
16-20 Prof. Subhankar Ghosh attended the AIP Industrial Physics Forum, 2012, at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy.
17 Inauguration of Xaverian Statistical Association and launch of the department magazine “ Prakarsho”.
18 Dr. Asoke Nath and Joyshree Nath published a paper ‘Application of Decision Diagrams to desidn Quantum Logic Circuits’ in Journal of Global Research in Computer Science, Vol. 3, No. 3, pp 5-8 (2012).
21 Alumni/ae Association organized the Fr. Joris Nihil Ultra Debate on the topic “In the Opinion of the House, Democracy in India is Ineffective Without the Right to Reject and Recall”.The Xaverian team represented by Dr. Kunal Sarkar, Prof Ananya Chakraborty, Dr. Sandip Chatterjee and Mr. Barry O’Brien won the debate. Mr Rudrangshu Mukherjee of the Telegraph was the Moderator. Union Minister, Sri Saugata Roy, led the debate against the Motion.
24 The Dept. of Commerce and Business Administration celebrated Bengali New Year.
25 Semester II and IV B.Com exams began.
25 ‘Aviskar”, The Research Journal, received ISSN for its online format.The codes for its two formats are: ISSN (Online): 2278-1048 and ISSN (Print): 2277*411.
26 Arts and Science staff organized a cultural program to celebrate Bengali New Year.
27 Semester II and IV B.A. and B.Sc. examinations began.
