1 - 25	Dr. Prothoma Roy Chowdhury completed her orientation programme at Jadavpur University.
2	Talk by Dr. Biswadip Das titled “Killing messengers before they are dead: a novel paradigm for cell survival and gene regulation”, organized by Dept. of Microbiology.
2	Dr. Aniruddha Banerji was elected as a member of The Sectional Committee of New Biology of the Indian Science Congress for the period 2012-13.
2-3	Prof. Sucharita Roy attended a workshop on “Role of Computational Biology” at Saha Institute.
4-5	UGC Sponsored National Seminar on “Financial Reporting :Changing Paradigms”, organized by B.Com/ BBA Depts. in association with Institute of Chartered Accountants.
4 – 5	Dr. Riddhi Majumder presented a poster on the topic “Stoned-dependent clathrin endocytosis is necessary to trigger ligand- dependent notch signaling” at a conference “Frontiers in Modern Biology 2012” at IISER, Kolkata. 18 students from the Microbiology department attend the conference.
5	Shishumela was organized by NSS. 4 NGOs, 7 villages, 800 children and 250 Student volunteers participated.
6-7	Bengali Literary Society organized ‘Xavollash’, the annual fest.
4	Semester V results published
7- Mar 5	Dr. Jhimli Dasgupta participated in the Orientation Program organized by Academic Staff College, University of Calcutta.
8-9	Dr. Sarbari Guha presented a poster titled ‘Geodesic Motions’ in COSGRAVE 12: during the International Conference on Modern Perspectives of Cosmology and Gravitation at ISI, Kolkata.
9	Prof. Anindya Dey attended a UGC sponsored seminar on ‘Contemporary Mathematical Analysis’ organized by Dept. of Mathematics, Charuchandra College, Kolkata.
11	Joe D’ Souza Memorial Cricket Match between Alumni and Staff held. Alumni won the match.
11	Semester I and III results published.
13-14	Xavier’s Management Convention. Students of 11 leading Colleges from across the country participated.
15-16	Physics Department organized its annual fest “SPECTRUM” . Physicist Prof. Bikash Sinha was the Chief guest. He also delivered a lecture on “God particle”. Department’s magazine “Horizons” released on the occasion.
16	Prof. Dr. Santanu Dasgupta, Dept. of Microbiology, Uppsala University, Sweden, delivered a lecture on “Growth and Cell Division in Mycobacteria”. The lecture was open to all teachers and students of Science departments.
17	Dr. Shibaji Banerjee was invited to conduct a workshop on the PHOENIX INTERFACING SYSTEM organized by the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Kolkata.
18	‘Cofradia’ - Hostel day, was celebrated. Major General A. R. A. Sah, a former student of the Hostel, was the Chief Guest.
18-20	Three day village exposure programme in Gosaba, Sundarbans, was organized by the Sociology Department for 2nd year Hons. students. The students stayed with the families in groups of two during these days. Profs. MS, FJ, ZB, and HC accompanied the students.
22	NSS organized a visit to the Aila affected village Bholakhali, adopted by SXC. 15 CSB/SJU students, 50 Third Year Computer Science students and 4 professors under the guidance of the NSS director visited the village.
18	Hindi Literary Society organized “Vividha”, its annual festival. Prof. Manik Bachawat, an eminent poet, was the Chief Guest.
18-29	Prof. Rabiul Islam attended a workshop on Topology and Geometry at the Dept. of Mathematics, IIT, Mumbai (sponsored by Dept. of Atomic Energy)
19	AICUF Day was celebrated. Fr. Selwin SJ, National Advisor was the Chief Guest. About 500 students participated.
20	ELXIR, magazine of the Chemistry Department, was released. Dr. Tulsi Mukherjee, Director, Chemistry Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, was the Chief Guest. Dr. Tulsi Mukherjee also delivered a talk under the Student Improvement Plan.
22	Ash Wednesday- Mass celebrated by Fr..Andre Bruylants SJ.
23-24	INSIGNIA, Xavier’s Management Convention organized by Xavier’s Commerce Society. 10 selected colleges from all over the country participated.
24	Talk by Dr. Ashish Nandy on “Self and Violence in 21st Century’ organized by Xavier’s Sociological Society in association with International Centre Calcutta (ICC).
24	5th International Chapter of SXCCAA was inaugurated in Dhaka, The chapter convener is Mr. Sayed Manzoor Elahi. The earlier international Chapters are at Singapore, Bangkok, U.A.E, and UK besides Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore within the country.
24	Prof. Tathagata Banerjee delivered a lecture titled ”Same Language Subtitling” for the staff and students of Statistics Department.
27	Fr. Felix Raj appointed member of the Senate of the University of Calcutta for a period of four years.
27&29	Dept. of Chemistry organized a National Seminar ‘Emerging Frontiers in Chemistry Series III’ in collaboration with the Dept of Chemistry, IIT, Mumbai.
29	The college Science Association organized “SIGMA – 2012” which included among others National Science Day celebration, science exhibition - “EUREKA” and a workshop.
