Salient Features of the B.Ed. syllabus
The B.Ed. syllabus comprises of a blend of theory and
practical classes. The distinguishing features of this course
consist of psychological testing methods, social and community
service, co-curricular programme and school based practical
activities. The viva-voce component is a supplementary process
by which the knowledge of the students both theoretical as
well as practical can be ascertained. Laboratory practicals,
simulated lesson, micro-teaching, practice teaching and final
teaching are major components of the syllabus. The challenge
of the programme lies in the fact that educational activities
are not restricted within the four walls of the college. It
goes beyond the narrow confines of a department to a variety
of schools and educational institutions outside. The
department organizes conferences, seminars, workshops and
exhibitions from time to time. Eminent educators are united at
intervals in order to pool in their valuable resources towards
the maintenance of excellent standards in education.
