We, at the Xavier's Management Society believe in inspiring others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more; nurturing leaders in the process.
With our aim to discover and promote the talent of the students, we organise events all-round the year. We provide students with a platform to explore their management prowess.
We started our year with X-Cursion '15, by giving the students an opportunity to visit the factory of The Keventer Group, the leading business conglomerate in India producing fast moving consumer goods like Appy Fizz, Frooti, Yippee noodles, Bailey, etc. It was an enlightening experience for the students to see how a large scale manufacturing house works at the ground level.
The 11th edition of our annual magazine, 'The X-Ecutive'15' on the theme "The Ripple Effect", showcased how small actions can have a significant reaction in society. Our magazine featured articles from students, faculty members and var ious seasoned profes s ional s alongside interviews of leading businessmen and professionals..We were also blessed with the interviews of Mr. Robin Sharma (Author and Motivational Speaker) and Mr. Sujoy Ghosh (renowned Indian filmmaker).
We hosted a panel discussion, X-Talk'15 in the month of March. The magazine was launched at "X-Talk'15". X-Talk is an event which brings eminent personalities to our campus and gets them to interact with students of our college, creating an ambience where opinions are framed and destinies are formed. Mr. Cyrus Broacha, a TV anchor, theatre personality and comedian, honoured us with his presence for X-Talk'15. He completely captivated the guests, faculty members and the students of the various departments of our college.
Xavier's Management Convention is one of the most awaited events of the society featuring top colleges from all across the country participate in a plethora of events relating to management that take place during the two days of the convention. XMC'15, with its theme "Dystopia", highlighted the importance of survival strategies and beating the odds with unique management techniques. The Convention saw several prestigious colleges showcasing their knowledge and capability of tackling financial, marketing, human resource and PR-related problems which are faced by companies. The event was a grand success With the end of 'XMC'15', with a heavy heart we had to bid farewell to the third year members and Board members with Divyanshu Mahansaria as the Secretary and Gaurav Agarwal as the Joint Secretary. The newly formed Board, with Nitesh Khaitan as the Secretary and Ridhima Lohia as the Joint Secretary, and The Working Committee, brought a new freshness to the society.
We held our first event, X-Genesis, exclusively for the first year students of the Department of Commerce and the Department of Business Administration. The event aimed at giving the new students a platform to assess their skill and display their talent. Comprising of events in the field of Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Public Relations, it gave them an insight into the corporate world, helping in their overall development. We also held an Industrial Visit, XCursion' 15 to the Hukumchand Jute Mills, the world's largest jute mill, and Indian Paper and Pulp Industries. Our industrial visit broadened the young minds.
X-Confero is a product of the belief of XMS to challenge our comfort zones. We provide the city's young minds a convergence point of intellectualism and pragmatism based on reasoning.
X-Confero'15 witnessed the participation of students from St. Xavier's and other colleges in many grueling rounds in order to reach the finals throughout the week, where they were judged by city's top intellectuals and had to face the questions put forward by the judges and won laurels for themselves accompanied by attractive cash prizes. This year, we invited a guest speaker, namely Dr. Pawan Girdhari Agrawal (CEO of the Mumbai Dabbawala Education Society) to grace us with his presence and give a motivational talk to the students of St. Xavier's College. The X-Confero'15 was a resounding success and we hope to return next year with a bigger, better and an even more enriching experience.
We owe our success to the constant support and guidance of Father Vice-Principal, Rev. Dr. Fr. Dominic Savio, SJ, Dean of The Department of Business Administration, Professor Amitava Roy and our teacher-in-charge, Mrs. Baishali Agarwal.
