St. Xavier’s Fathers offer prayers for all for Protection and Cure from COVID-19

Dear Students,

With the extension of the lock-down into its fourth phase, all of us are undoubtedly feeling the impact of the severe and continuing disruption of normal life in one way or another. Some of us may well feel a sense of ennui, or a lack of direction, or academic unease, or even a general nameless malaise given the uncertainty of things and how long lock-down might persist. So I have felt a strong and pressing need to reach out to all students and to all members of the Xaverian community with words of assurance, comfort and support. We are all in this together for the long haul, and we must take strength from the bond that unites us. We must remember that the lock-down is for our safety, the safety of the community and of the entire country, and we must take heart from that. So I take this opportunity to reach out to all my dear students with the assurance that I am deeply concerned for your health and well-being, and that my prayers and blessings are with each one of you. I remind you that the college has arranged for our counsellors to be available to all who might need someone to talk to. I myself, along with the Vice-Principals, am available on mail should you feel the need to reach out for any kind of help or guidance or support. I would like to thank all your professors who have been diligently completing your syllabus online, and who are also available to you for mentoring or counselling. Finally, I reach out to all final year students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, with the assurance that we are giving great importance to the matter and manner of your course completion, and that, as I announced earlier, all decisions with regard to conduct and nature of final examinations and results will be taken with your best interests in mind.

May God bless us all

Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, S.J.
